Duties and responsibilities

General Mechanical Engineering Design

  • End to end Mechanical System(s) building design
  • Quality Assurance Inspections, such as plan review(s)/ redesign
  • Supply design updates and take part in the assignment of work to optimize skills sets and ensure timely project deadlines
  • Data management for designs and inspections and approvals in virtual/hard copy file format(s) to ensure compliance with the PPMP, APEGBC, and APEGA for the organization

Client and 3rd Party Liaison Activities

  • Engaging and supporting client communication
  • Determine the scope of various projects as assigned
  • Providing status updates to internal and external resources
  • Confronting client issues as required within the scope of the project and with 3rd Party resources

E.I.T. and Field Technician Supervision/ Oversight

  • Communicate with BASE colleagues ensuring projects and all field resources (internal and external) are aligned
  • Prepare drawing sets for permitting and construction
  • Issue technical support for Field Level Supervisors
  • Supervise data processing as required, and review completed field work to ensure the quality and scope of the work meets and/or exceeds professional standards
  • Support ongoing process improvement for BASE field standards and procedures, providing regular feedback to the Quality Control system(s) to ensure the best standards and results


  • One or more Mechanical Engineering Degree(s) and/or Equivalencies
  • 5 years or more of relevant project oversight experience supervising Mechanical Engineering projects and managing clients
  • Complete working knowledge of the building codes and standards for construction of HVAC systems and plumbing design(s)
  • Working knowledge of CAD drawing requirements and acceptable accuracy/tolerance levels
  • Advanced knowledge and application of Division specific industry related legislation and regulations
  • Preferential Consideration will be given to those with a PMP designation

  • Strong time and project management skills, able to balance and deliver multiple and conflicting priorities
