POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is a leading Real Estate Developer in the Vaughan area. We are conducting a search for a Leasing Analyst to join their team. Collate, analyze, and report on various tenant and portfolio data in support of the Leasing Department, Asset Management Team and Accounting. Duties include preparation various reports, tracking of deals, lease budgeting and reporting, updating of databases, interaction with all Leasing Associates and EVP Portfolio Management. The successful candidate will be a strong Analyst with an aptitude for real-estate and particularly, Operational real-estate (ie. Leasing and/or Operational focus).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Leasing, Portfolio Management and Accounting in collating Tenant Data from various databases (Yardi, FPSC, Excel, SharePoint) and converge into various analyses;
  •  Ability to read and interpret leases, Franchisee-Franchisor relationships, track and summarize new leases and assess the strength of the tenancy, covenant and security;
  • Analyze and process occupancy and tenant renewal data for the current quarter and future quarters;
  • Track deal flows in progress in the system to ensure all deals are captured for quarterly reporting;
  • Maintain an ongoing communication with all Leasing VP’s to ensure that pending deals are property accounted for (new deals, renewals, and pending terminations);
  • Monitor the performance of the portfolio from a Tenant/Occupancy/Renewals perspective;
  • Act as liaison with Portfolio Management and Accounting for  internal reporting and external reporting Act as a support for Leasing Assistants in preparing and/or collating Tenant files, Deal Summary Sheets, Lease summaries, covenant reviews, construction estimates, market summaries, and the like;
  • Review commission agreements and assist in processing broker commission invoices;
  • Assist in the maintenance of the leasing database, tracking schedules and various leasing reports;
  • Prepare and lead the annual leasing budget exercise with SVP of Leasing;
  • Review monthly Rent Rolls for accuracy and completeness;
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support to SVP and EVP for various projects as they arise;
  • Assist the overall Operations Team, with various projects, process improvements, documentation, analysis, and reporting.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University Degree or College diploma in Business or related field would be an asset.
  • 3+ years of Analyst experience in a real-estate or business field;
  • 1-2 years practical experience in commercial real estate would be an asset;
  • Strong Excel skills using tables, macros, and preparation of financial models;
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; Ability to read and understand leases;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and must possess the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of management within the company as well as outside the organization;
