Our favourite client is seeking a Database Administrator to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This individual will work in office alongside a collaborative team, striving to support this ever-growing organization. Our client prides itself on its corporate culture and has worked hard to upkeep a positive and hardworking office environment. The candidate must be someone who can step in and match the existing energy.

At the forefront, the perfect candidate will have a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise, potentially recommending better suited technology, etc, and ideally including knowledge of AWS.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

The role may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery, etc. 

The key job functions are:

  • Design, installation, configuration and maintenance of developing, testing, staging, reporting and producing database servers
  • Database development, including tables, keys, indexes, constraints, queries, views, stored procedures, triggers, user defined functions
  • Monitoring database server CPU usage, memory usage, disk space, deadlocks, blocking, error logs and scheduled jobs
  • Database performance monitoring and performance tuning
  • Manage server, database and object security
  • Create maintenance plan to backup database, check database integrity, reorganize index, rebuild index and update statistics
  • Create and maintain database diagrams and data dictionaries
  • Database analysis, modeling, logical design and physical design
  • Code review database changes made by software developers
  • Create script
  • Other tasks as assigned


  • High school or equivalent
  • Relevant post secondary an asset


  • 5+ years experience as a Database Admin
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Clean criminal background


  • Self-starter / Self-motivated
  • Can work in both team environment and independently
  • Creative yet analytical thinker

Base Salary: $95,000 per year

Full benefits package

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:00am – 5:00pm

Remote Work:

This position is not remote and required to be on-site.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
