Our international client is looking to hire a bilingual French and English Collections Officer to join their busy and fast-paced Calgary office.  The Collections Officer will be responsible for the tactful collections of outstanding accounts receivable from existing clients and all other aspects of collections, including resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency.

The ideal candidate will be creative and have the experience to think on their feet and problem solve in an ever-changing environment.  If you exhibit confidence and a professional yet friendly manner, then this is the role for you!

Duties and Responsibilities: 

The key job functions are:

  • Reviewing open accounts for soft collection efforts
  • Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations
  • Resolving client billing concerns
  • Collecting customer payments in accordance with payment due dates
  • Identifying issues attributing to account delinquency and discussing them with management
  • Reviewing and monitoring assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports
  • Providing timely follow-up on payment arrangements
  • Providing correspondence to customers to encourage payment on delinquent reports


  • Accounting Diploma or Degree is an asset


  • Must be proficient in both French and English, written and verbal


  • 2-5 years in collections is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, is required
  • Dental experience is an asset


  • Impeccable attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
  • Confident, patient, and thick-skinned with a strong personality
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment

Base Salary: $25 – 30 per hour

  • Full benefits package included (medical / dental)

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (one hour lunch)

Remote Work:

  • This position is not remote and required to be on-site.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
